Baltimore Style Mag :: Sending Food Back

An enjoyable piece to illustrate , retelling a range of humorous stories by waiters , chefs & Maitre D's about what lengths some people will go to , to get a free meal or grandstand at a restaurant.

It was done in my more limited palette style which I hope to do more pieces like in the future.

Canadian Lawyer Magazine :: Saving your Pension Fund

Being neither an Economist nor a Lawyer , I'm loathe to try and elaborate on or summarize the content of the article , suffice to say , it entails the preservation of one's 'DB' fund , a type of pension subsidized by employers.

I can't seem do illustrations with water , without getting all Hokusai on them . Enjoy!

PC World Magazine + Wall St Journal

A straightforward piece addressing some of the drawbacks to using utilities like Voip , Skype etc on your smart phone.

Took a while to come up with a color scheme I was happy with.

This piece for the Wall St. Journal was about how young college graduates , new to the work force will go that extra mile to ensure a chance at continued employment.

New Internationalist UK :: Another Side of Paradise

For a upcoming article in the New Internationalist by Author Lindsey Collen a Mauritian novelist who looks back on her country’s recent past to see how class strife disguises itself as culture clash.

Excerpt :: "I met an old woman in the homeless people’s movement in the 1990s who said: ‘I am scared to leave Plaine Verte [where she had illegally built a tin shack on state land] because I came here from Baie du Tombeau in the race wars.’ This is what affected her most: ‘They broke my fishbowl. I ran with my two little boys and a babe in arms, looking back at the goldfish gasping on the red cement floor.’ People who have to flee are left with vivid memories for decades. "

The version being used in the magazine won't have the brown weathered frame.

Treasury & Risk Magazine :: Cover

Client wanted a 'Ironman' inspired character for their cover. Rising up out of the molten ruins of Wall St , a bit of a challenge considering I don't do a lot of straight-up superhero type stuff. A really enjoyable job too.

It took a coupla passes to nail his 'look'.

Adweek Magazine :: 30th Anniversary issue

This issue showcased an exclusive photographic portfolio of 30 of the most influential people working in advertising, marketing and media today. I think I drew the 'long straw' because I was selected to do Steve Jobs & Jonathan Ive of Apple. Being devoted Mac user for nearly a decade now, it was a satisfying piece to do. The AD wanted to keep the look and feel of the piece simple and clean, just like a Mac ;)
